Kangastop started because we went looking for a motorised saw stop and couldn't find one at a fair price from a supplier who actually knew their product. So we built our own.
Today, we manufacture three models of CNC motorised measuring system from our factory in Richards, NSW - and stand behind every one with a 10-year parts and labour warranty.

OUR STORY
FROM FRUSTRATION TO FACTORY
It started with a simple request. We needed a motorised saw stop for our own production operation and went to the market to find one. What we got back was a range of prices we considered excessive, from suppliers who couldn't answer our technical questions with any confidence.
So we did what manufacturers do - we made it ourselves. We built a CNC controlled motorised stop for internal use, refined it over time, and started getting a consistent reaction from visitors to our facility: "Why don't you sell this?"
After hearing that enough times, we decided to do exactly that. We went back to the drawing board and engineered a second-generation Kangastop — this time with the explicit goal of making it available to Australian industry at a price that reflected genuine value, not inflated margins.
The design philosophy was clear from the start: use quality industrial components, design for long service life, and make it in Australia so we can stand behind it properly. No compromises on components to hit an artificial price point. No outsourcing to distant manufacturers where quality control and warranty support become someone else's problem.
The result is a machine we're genuinely proud of - and confident enough in to back with a 10-year parts and labour warranty. Because when you build something right, you can afford to make that commitment.
YEAR ONE
THE FIRST MACHINE
We built our first CNC motorised stop for internal use after being unable to find a suitable product at a reasonable price. Over the following two years, we refined the design through daily production use.
YEAR THREE
GOING TO MARKET
After consistently being asked by visitors "why don't you sell this?", we decided to commercialise the design. We built a second-generation machine using industrial-grade components and designed for manufacture.

Every design decision starts with the same question: will this still be working reliably in ten years? If the answer is yes, we use it. If not, we find something better.

START WITH THE BEST POWER SUPPLY
A reliable machine starts with a reliable power supply. Ours are European-made and sized for continuous industrial duty. A power supply is not the place to cut costs.

INDUSTRIAL CONTROL SYSTEMS
We use Omron PLCs and HMI touchscreens - industrial automation equipment from a company with decades of proven reliability in demanding environments. Not consumer-grade components with "industrial" branding.

SMART MECHANICAL DESIGN
Custom 3mm aluminium extrusions enclose all critical components. Steel-reinforced drive belts match to extruded aluminium pulleys on sealed bearings. Stainless steel fixings throughout. Designed to be maintained, not thrown away.

SERVO DRIVE ACCURACY
Servo drive encoders provide constant position feedback - this is how we achieve and maintain the level of accuracy that makes a real difference on the production floor, cut after cut, shift after shift.

ASSEMBLED AND TESTED IN AUSTRALIA
Every Kangastop is assembled, tested, and signed off at our Richards facility before it leaves. When it arrives at your facility, it's ready to work.
